Dating from circa 1880-90, this beautiful pedestal lidded compote bowl would’ve been traditionally used to serve desserts like fruit compotes (stewed fruits in syrup), fruit salads, pudding or jellies.
You could do the same and elevate your dessert game, but could also be a beautiful centrepiece filled with blossoms, seashells, pinecones or other collectibles.
Nova Scotia Glass or Trenton Glass, was manufactured beginning in 1881, in Pictou County. Three companies were producing glass products during the 1890s. Their pressed glass tableware pieces became collectable in the 1960s.
