Masks and mask making are a part of Mexican ritual life that pre-dates colonization. Masks in Mexico are used in a wide variety of dances, ceremonies, festivals and theatre, but the most common uses are with traditional dances. This handmade Mexican folkart tin punch mask from the 1950’s has green glass eyes and eyelashes for days!

Popular midcentury decor, they have made their way to California watering holes and taquerias where they are now enjoying a fresh moment in the spotlight.
