This Kuchi pendant has a wonderful colorful, bright and folkloric look and handmade examples like this one are becoming harder to find.

Kuchis (meaning ‘nomad’) lived a nomadic life, moving with their livestock across different regions in the southeastern parts of Afghanistan.

These handcrafted ornamental jewels are generally made of a mix of silver, brass, coin metal, nickel silver etc. The "gems" are rough cut colored glass, set with wax using an ancient technique.

Would look lovely worn on a silk cord, silver chain or ribbon.
