A charming survivor from the Georgian era, this lovely creamware bowl features the beloved blue feather edge pattern that graced British dining tables in the late 1700s and early 1800s. With its gently scalloped rim highlighted in rich cobalt blue and its warm, creamy glaze softened by nearly two centuries of use, this piece carries all the character collectors adore.

Originally produced by English potteries in Staffordshire, feather edge wares were among the first affordable yet stylish ceramics available to the growing middle classes. The hand-finished blue edging was carefully brushed onto each scallop, creating a delicate decorative effect that remains instantly recognizable today. Pieces like this would have been used daily for serving fruit, puddings, vegetables, or simple family meals, making them wonderful examples of early domestic life.

The bowl’s subtle crazing, gentle wear, and beautifully aged patina speak to its authentic age dating to around 1800-1830, while its timeless form looks just as at home on a modern farmhouse table as it would have in a Regency kitchen. Display it as a centerpiece, use it to hold seasonal fruit, or add it to a collection of early English pottery.

A sweet and soulful piece.

Age-appropriate wear, crazing, and patina consistent with nearly 200 years of age.
