Three cats. Three very different moods — and together, one of the most charming shelfscapes!
The Japanese ceramic kitten is pure, unguarded delight — a fluffy Himalayan, mid-groom, paw raised to cheek and tiny pink tongue caught in the act. The modelling is wonderfully expressive, a classic piece of mid-century Japanese export.
The English porcelain Siamese is altogether more composed — sleek, alert, and elegant in the way only a Siamese can be. Low to the ground, tail curling behind, dark chocolate points melting into the warm cream body in that characteristic colourpoint fade. The glaze is beautifully smooth with a high sheen.
The solid brass cat is a showstopper — a bold, sculptural piece with real heft and attitude. Back arched dramatically, tail swept high, it has the exaggerated elegance of a Hollywood Regency accent piece. The warm, slightly aged patina gives it depth and authenticity.
All three are in very good vintage condition. A collector’s grouping with real personality.
