How absolutely charming are this pair of vintage Lunenburg Foundry oxen! Oxen ‘powered’ Lunenburg County for generations, well into the 1900s. They are famously memorialized in the paintings of world renowned folk artist Maud Lewis.

These highly collectable pieces of Nova Scotia and Lunenburg County folk art history are metal, hollow inside and hand painted with a wooden yoke and copper bells. There is a tiny bit of paint loss off the hip of one. Please see photos for more information. The general condition has been considered in setting the price for this pair.

Each ox is 5 inches long x 3 inches high on a

wooden base 5 inches x 6 inches.
