Beginning in 1881, Pictou County began manufacturing glass tableware. Three companies in Pictou County were producing glass products during the 1890s. Their pressed glass tableware pieces became collectable in the 1960s, and are currently highly sought after, as there are fewer and fewer pieces left in good condition.
